Shanghai’s Experience on Utilizing the Rubblization for Jointed Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation
As agencies continue looking for cost-effective methods to rehabilitate deteriorated JCP, rubblization using resonant breaker has been experimented by the Shanghai Municipal Roadway Authority (SMRA). It was demonstrated that rubblization using resonant breaker offers a viable option for the SMRA because the rubblized pavement sections have been performing very well with no visible distress. This report presents findings of research conducted to determine the viability of constructing Portland cement concrete pavements over rubblized PCC. Rubblization of aged PCC pavements is a common technique for in-place recycling of these pavements. For the vast majority of applications, the rubblized PCC layer is surfaced with hot mix asphalt (HMA). Vibration Monitoring of Sonic Concrete Pavement Breaker
Saguaro GeoServices was to determine if vibrations from the sonic concrete breaking machine could potentially cause damage to the property at 815 W 18th St. SGS positioned monitoring equipment along the EB I-10 Frontage Rd, next to the property. The sonic concrete breaking machine was directed to the demolition area that was nearest to the property, about 125 ft from the monitor, and made two passes while under operation. Read more.
